Yes, you do. But most countries (check before you book) are offered a FREE visa on arrival. This lasts for 30 days, before you have to leave. Another option is to PAY for a 30 day visa, but this visa has the option of extending for another 30 days, which you can do at the local immigration office.
If you want to stay longer, there are options for Social Visa and Business Visas, but these do require sponsorships to attain.
- Is Bali dangerous?
On a whole, Bali is not a dangerous place. In fact, it is one of the friendliest places on Earth. However, like everywhere you travel you still have to be careful. Petty crime is the main problem, but once again, it is like that in any country. Hold onto your valuables, especially on scooters as bag snatches can happen. Be careful when using ATM’s (only use machines inside buildings or with good cameras) and do money exchange in your hotel or at a bank. Overall, just use common sense.

Bali is not bad. But like every argument, it is all in how you look at it. As a tropical destination, Bali is a lot more over touristy than many other places. This can lead to overcrowding and really take away from the tropical feel you might have been looking for. It is important to note, however, that this is only on the southern beach strip, and the rest of the island, such as Ubud, East Bali, and the Nusa Islands are still wonderful places to visit.

Bali is much like any other tropical island. Wear light clothing that are suitable for the tropic weather.
