Everyone who has a social media account knows about Lake Bled. It’s impossible to miss, especially on Instagram due to its wonderful panoramas and incredible natural scenery. Add to that the quaint little island in the middle of the lake itself, and the beautiful church that resides there. Visitors flock from all over the world to Lake Bled, pouring in every day, all year round. Many have no idea how to even get there, let alone where to stay, or anything at all about Lake Bled hotels.

Most visitors to Lake Bled come for one thing. The little church sitting on the famous island in the middle of the lake. By contrast, they leave with a completely different impression of Slovenia’s most famous lake, and a newfound affection for what, they now realize, is one of the most stunning locations in the world.
For this reason, many that arrive at Lake Bled do so on a simple day trip. A few hours later, they realize that they will be spending the entire day exploring the incredible Lake, and taking in the unrivaled scenery. By the end of the day, many find themselves wishing they had booked to stay overnight, or even for a few days.
I am not ashamed to admit that I was one of those people. Even in winter, there is much to do and explore, and come Spring and Summer, the hiking and incredible region surrounding Lake Bled offers so many possibilities. It is for this reason that I began to investigate numerous Lake Bled Hotels, and then to search even further afield into the township of Bled itself.
Here is the list of the very best Lake Bled Hotels that I found.

Where is Lake Bled?
Lake Bled is located in North West Slovenia close to the Austrian border, and not too far from the Italian Border. It is approximately 55 kilometers from the Slovenian Capital of Ljubljana, making it only about a 40 – 45 minute trip by car, or 1 hour by local bus.
One of the attractions about the location of Lake Bled is how accessible it is to visitors to surrounding regions and countries. Getting to Lake Bled is very easy!
How to get to Lake Bled
So, how to get to Lake Bled?
The easiest way is to just make your way to Ljubljana. Getting there is easy from all over Europe, as the Slovenian Capital has an International Airport. Flights are regular and take only 1 hour from Vienna.
The most common way to get to Ljubljana is by bus and rail. The central railway station and bus terminal are right next to each other in the very heart of the city, and run regular services all over Europe. By bus you can go nearly anywhere. One of the most popular routes is from Zagreb, Croatia, which is very close to the Slovenian Border.
From Ljubljana to Lake Bled is easy. If you have your own car the drive is quick, only taking about 40 minutes. Otherwise you can do tours and daytrips that will get you there without much effort on your behalf.
The easiest and cheapest way to enjoy Lake Bled that I found is to simply catch the local bus. Services run all day, and are very cheap. I wrote an entire guide on catching the bus from Ljubljana to Lake Bled that you can read at THIS LINK.
Best Lake Bled Hotels
If you are visiting Lake Bled, then the very best place to stay is in one of the Lake Bled Hotels. You are there for the lake, after all, so being as close to it as possible makes the most sense. You can expect the hotels here to be a little more expensive than further afield.
Even so, here are my picks as the best Lake Bled Hotels, no matter what your budget.
Luxury
GRAND HOTEL TOPLICE
The Grand Hotel Toplice is located in prime position on the waterfront at Lake Bled. It boasts the only 5 star rating in the area, has its very own private beach, and all the luxury appointments that you would expect from a Hotel with this rating. The views of the alps and lake are amazing, making this one of the best Lake Bled Hotels by far.
VILA BLED
Vila Bled is a luxury hotel set right on the shores of the lake. It was once the Summer Palace of the former President, so that in itself is a huge recommendation! The views are stunning, and the hotel provides its own private beach and boat dock. It’s also only a 3 minute walk from the nearest bus stop, which is a real bonus for a hotel with such a great location.
ADORA LUXURY HOTEL
Adora Luxury Hotel is set in a unique location right on the lakes edge at Lake Bled. The center of Bled is only a 10 minute walk away, and the closest restaurant just 100 meters. The hotel has large rooms, a big bathroom, and comfortable beds. Combined with the incredible views, you just can’t go wrong.
Mid Range
HOTEL PARK
Hotel Park is in a wonderful location on Lake Bled. The hotel features a Wellness Center with large indoor pool and gym. Guests love the room at Hotel Park, and the all inclusive breakfast is extremely popular. The hotel also has its very own Patisserie with a wonderful range of pastries and cakes, as well as great coffee!
HOTEL TRIGLAV LLC
Hotel Triglav is an elegant building dating back to the year 1906. It features a refined lake view restaurant, art deco styled rooms, rustic wine cellar, plus an indoor pool and spa. There is little wonder Hotel Triglav is rated one of the most popular Lake Bled Hotels as it is only a short stroll from the lake, as well as a couple minutes to the train station. Hotels don’t come any more central!
Budget
PENZION ZAKA BLED
There are not too many “budget” places to be found among Lake Bled Hotels, but Penzion Zaka fits the category nicely. Just across the road from the lake, and directly opposite the rowing club, guests find warm accommodation with comfortable beds. If you are only staying for a night or two, this could be your answer.
Places to Stay in Bled
If being close by the lake isn’t a huge priority for you, then saving a little bit of money to stay in the township of Bled is a great option. It really isn’t that far away, and I personally couldn’t tell the difference. Technically, it’s just up the hill, and in reality only a short stroll from the lake itself.
Here are the best places to stay in Bled for all budgets.
Luxury
BLED ROSE HOTEL
The Bled Rose Hotel is situated up the hill from the Lake, and many of the rooms boast beautiful lake views. Others have views of the Alps, so you really can’t go wrong. The hotel itself is located on a beautiful park, and is only a short stroll from everything in Bled, as well as the cliff top castle.

HOUSE KLASIKA
House Klasika is a highly rated guest house. Beware that it is Adults Only though! Guests love the location a couple of kilometers from the lake and other attractions. There is everything you could want nearby including supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants. The in house breakfasts are incredible, catering to every possible taste.
OLD BLED HOUSE
Old Bled House is a rustic, laid back hotel located in a leafy residential suburb of Bled. It is only a 10 minute walk from the Lake and other attractions, and has kind, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfasts are wonderful, rooms comfortable, and there is even a bus stop just around the corner. Be warned to book in advance though, as Old Bled House is very popular!
Budget
VILA LIPA
Vila Lipa is one of the only real budget options in Bled worth mentioning, but still can be a bit hit and miss with guests. Featuring nice comfortable rooms, you will still be faced with using a shared bathroom. If that is no issue, then Vila Lipa could be a good option when traveling on a budget. The “private” room with bathroom is situated away from the main building, and guests have noted several issues with it, including lots of creepy crawlies! So beware and stick to the main shared areas if you book at Vila Lipa.
