So, you have booked a holiday in Nusa Dua, but have no idea where to go or what to do. More importantly, you also have no idea where to eat in Nusa Dua. Not everyone that stays in Nusa Dua can afford to eat every night in the lavish and expensive resort restaurants, and the good news is, you don’t have to! In this article I have put together a list of where to eat in Nusa Dua, and included 8 of my favorite spots that I keep going back to time and again.

Now, before I start I want to mention that I actually live in Nusa Dua when I am in Bali, and even have a house here. (Yes, I am in Nusa Dua right now writing this article). This list includes places that you will find the local expats eating lunch and dinner, and are so popular that they even stayed open right through the Covid shut downs, when more “Touristy” options like Bali Collection and the restaurants along Jalan Pantai Mengiat were forced to close their doors. Don’t get me wrong, some of those are wonderful restaurants, but they don’t come under the “affordable” list of places to eat that I wanted for this article.
So, if you are interested in places that serve nice food, local and western, for a good price, then here is my list of where to eat in Nusa Dua – the AFFORDABLE way! Also – stick around to the end for a special tip about a great place to eat not just in Nusa Dua – but all over Bali!
There is one thing about Nusa Dua that not many visitors realize, and that is that it is not ALL about big resorts. There are plenty of budget accommodation options in the area, and in recent years even a couple of backpackers that are very highly rated. A couple are only a stone’s throw from a few of the places on this list!

Secret Café, Nusa Dua
Secret Café, is, well, a secret. Not that it is hidden or anything. Quite to the contrary, it is right on the main road, sitting just up the hill from one of the main gates into the Nusa Dua BTDC on Jalan Siligita.
What we all love about Secret Café is that it is small, cozy, has that rustic feel about it, and serves consistently amazing food! The food is delicious, and so is the coffee. Personally, I keep on returning for the beautiful breakfasts, as do the dozens of expats that stop by on the way home from their morning surf every day.
Find the location of Secret Café HERE.
TIP – Secret Café is open every day EXCEPT Wednesday!
Honey and Bread Café
Honey and Bread Café is another one that you would probably just go right past without noticing. The good thing about this place, though, is that it is right on the main road from Kuta to Nusa Dua. So, even if you aren’t staying in Nusa Dua, and are only coming over for water sports, or a visit, then this place is the perfect stop off for you. If you are looking for where to eat in Nusa Dua, then this could be your answer!
Honey and Bread is right beside Pepitos Supermarket, so is easy to find if you keep an eye open for that sign. They have wonderful western food, a great Indonesian selection, and quite regularly have specials. Lately it has been buckets of Bintang, or buy one main and get one free. So stop by and check out what they have running right now!
Find the location for Honey and Bread Café HERE.
TIP – Honey and Bread also have a great Book Exchange system. It is free, and you just have to leave a book to take one from their bookcase. The local expats love the system, and the selection of books is always refreshing. So if you finished that book you bought at the airport and need something else to while away the poolside hours, head down and have a browse!
Silicon Food Park, Siligita
If you are looking for where to eat in Nusa Dua, and want a really great selection of foods from all over the world, then head on up to Silicon Food Park. Here, you can expect to find anything from Indonesian, to Turkish, to Italian food. Located on Jalan Siligita right at the top of the hill, it offers up so many options that you will probably just keep returning.
This place is right around the corner from my house, so for me it is an easy stroll. They have no less than a dozen different places to eat, which means options! The food park is leafy and green, with plenty of places to eat under the large trees and amongst the potted plants.
Find the location for Silicon Food Park HERE.
You can read my full review of Silicon Food Park HERE.
TIP – Come and check out the food park at night. There is regularly live music under the trees, and the atmosphere is great!
TIP #2 – This place is just around the corner from some great budget accommodation options such as THIS.
Nyoman’s Beergarden
Nyoman’s Beergarden is a place that locals, especially expat’s, have loved for years. The group that own the restaurant also own many other restaurants around Bali, and every one of them is as popular as this place.
Nyoman’s was closed over the pandemic, as were all the restaurants around it. They reopened with a bang, and every night they are at nearly 100 percent capacity. Such is the popularity.
So what makes Nyoman’s Beergarden so popular?
Firstly, the food is amazing. Billed as a German Restaurant, they don’t disappoint, with Schnitzel and Sauerkraut prominent on the menu. That is just the start of it though, with all foods Mediterranean served, along with local fare and even a few good Australian Style Hamburgers!
The other thing that makes Nyoman’s popular is the atmosphere. They double as a bit of a sports bar, something rare in Nusa Dua. You can find all the Aussie football shown there, along with other sports from around the world.
You can find Nyoman’s Beergarden at THIS location.
TIP: When you are finished, they even have a courtesy car service to take you back to your resort!
Semplice Coffee & Eatery
Semplice is only new in Nusa Dua, but they are already taking the area by storm. Open from 8am for all day breakfast has become a real hit in an area with not too many other breakfast options around. From personal experience I can confidently say that they have really nailed it too!
At Semplice you will find a great selection on the menu, to the point that you might be actually spoiled for choice. My favorite is the Venezia, which has 2 slices of sourdough bread with ham, béchamel with edar cheese, and a sunny egg on top. Check the image below to get an idea how they present it.
Semplice also have a delicious menu of coffees, as well as a wonderful selection of gelato and assorted pastries. This place is definitely worth checking out in Nusa Dua, especially if you are after a really good breakfast option.
You can find them at Silicon Food Park at THIS location.
Warung Yasa Segara Bengiat
UPDATE June 2024 – DO NOT go here anymore. They recently upped their prices to match the resorts. A small Bintang will now cost you 53k IDR which is nearly triple what you will buy it in a supermarket. For a really cheap option now, head down the beach front, and in between Club Med and Sofitel you’ll find a small local warung with beer for 35k IDR.
If you are heading down to Mengiat Beach and are looking for a nice, affordable place to eat, then try this place! It is right on the beach, and is owned by the local Banjar. This effectively means that it is (almost) local prices, and is a great alternative to eating in your resort for those awfully inflated prices.
Warung Yasa Segara Bengiat is located right at the carpark to the beach, and is easy to find. If you are staying anywhere along Nusa Dua Beach, particularly the Grand Hyatt or Ayodya or Inaya Putri, then this place is within an easy stroll. It is one of the more popular options for locals that come to the beach and are looking for where to eat in Nusa Dua, as it is just so handy!
Find the location for Yasa Segara Bengiat HERE.
TIP – If you are looking for a quiet afternoon putting back a few cold beers, then don’t think your only option is your resort. Head down here and sit in cool comfort with beers a lot cheaper than your resort!
Ke Pizza
Ke Pizza has been an institution in Nusa Dua for many years. They once had a restaurant on Jalan Siligita, but over the covid lock downs they moved premises. After working from home for a while, they finally reopened in Silicon Food Park, much to the joy of their long term regular customers from far and wide.
What you can expect from Ke Pizza now, is a more personalized service, a smaller, more homely experience, and amazing Pizza and Pasta. If you find Ke Pizza, you will be onto a real winner!
Find the location for Ke Pizza HERE.
Nusa Dua Beach Grill
This place is a little harder to find, and personally I had lived in Nusa Dua for some time before I even knew of its existence. Once I did, though, I never looked back!
Nusa Dua Beach Grill is exactly what you would think it is. A Grill. Although they DO serve some other wonderful options, this is the place you will want to find if you are looking for a really great steak in Bali. Nusa Dua Beach Grill has become a favorite of the local expats, and they head there with regular monotony to get some of the best western food in the Nusa Dua area.
Find the location for Nusa Dua Beach Grill HERE.
TIP – This place is not the cheapest on this list, but is a local secret that you really need to check out!
Geger Beach
If you looking for where to eat in Nusa Dua, are interested in the beach and a great view, then this is the place. Geger Beach is one of the hidden secrets in Nusa Dua, but is just a bit further along from the main Nusa Dua Beach. It is cheap, hidden, quiet, and you will find most of the local expats hiding out here.
What I love is the cheap warungs that are located at Geger, and the great food that they serve up for “local” price. I head down there just for a lazy afternoon with a few beers and delicious club sandwich. You simply cannot go wrong! If you are there for lunch, you will find it quiet and most times have it much to yourself. Later in the day, the locals begin to arrive for sunset on the beach, so it can get a little busier around the beach itself.
Find the location for Geger Beach HERE.
TIP – If you are used to holidaying in Kuta and this is your first time to Nusa Dua, you will get those Kuta Beach vibes here. Sit back and chill over a cold beer like you do over in Kuta and Legian. The vibes are much the same!
TIP #2 – If you are staying in the Mulia, head out to the beach and turn left along the path to find these great little warungs. You will save a LOT of money!
BONUS – Circle K
What? Circle K?
I bet you think I have gone bonkers! But, trust me, I haven’t.
The good old Circle K has recently been upgraded all around Bali. Every decent size store has now been turned into a “Korner Kafe” and serves up great iced coffees, Hotdogs, burgers and pizzas! There are always specials on, but basically for the price of around 4USD you can get an iced coffee and hotdog, or some other easy combo.
We still go to Janji Jiwa regularly, especially for the Toast, but these days cannot go past the good old Circle K if we just want a good Iced Coffee. We absolutely love it!
Find the location for Nusa Dua Circle K HERE.
TIP – Circle K is located all over Bali. Keep this little gem in mind if you are heading out on daytrips and get hungry on the way home! Simply ask your driver, check the maps, or keep an eye open for a Circle K with a round green sign saying Korner Kafe!
Bonus #2
So this place has no name but is perfect if you are spending time down at the beach in the vicinity of Club Med. Personally, I walk along the frontage every afternoon, and I located this little warung only recently, although in reality it’s always been there. In the past (prior to the pandemic) it really only catered to locals that were enjoying the beach, but a bit of a renovation and change of menu, and they now cater to everyone.
You can find it right in between Club Med and the Sofitel next door to the Tourist Police. Most people would probably walk past and not give it a second glance, but if you’re looking to save money on some lunch or early dinner, then definitely check it out. They serve a small Bintang for 35k IDR and Nasi Goreng for the same price. Not bad for this strip of luxury resorts where you could be paying double that price for the beer and up to 4 times that for a Nasi Goreng!
Well, that’s it for my list of where to eat in Nusa Dua. There are many other wonderful places, but this is my list of favorites. I hope you enjoy them, and I will probably see you there!

Thanks so much for the information above on places to eat! Very helpful. Just wondering if you have any inside information on what happens in Nusa Dua over New Years 2022?
Hi Elizabeth,
You’re welcome! There are some great places to eat around Nusa Dua. Silicon is the pick of them right now with some really nice options. There are other restaurants around Nusa Dua that are also really good, but are more “tourist prices” and have not been open during Covid. They are slowly reopening, but I will see how they shape up before I think about adding them to this list, keeping in mind that I made this list as places with more “locals” prices, or that are so good that expats will eat there regularly.
I am not sure what will be happening for New Years Eve this year yet. Seeing as there has been no New Year celebrations for the past two years, I can only imagine that all of the big resorts will be trying to outdo each other this year, so there should be plenty of options!
Thank you so much for these recommendations! I’m in Bali on honeymoon and it’s our last night, we’re in Nusa Dua and we came to Nyoman’s Beer garden… It’s fantastic 🙂 Thank you!
Hi Sarah. I am so glad that you enjoyed it! Nyoman’s was closed for so long over the pandemic and we really missed it. I hope you had a great honeymoon and come back soon. J
We’ll be at the Grand Hyatt in June with a meals package. Nusa Dua wasn’t my choice – I’m part of a large group. I don’t like the idea of being secluded from local culture (shops, restaurants, etc.).
What’s the nearest neighbourhood that would offer a genuine local (Balinese) vibe? Is a cab the only real option to get there?
Hi Oded,
The Grand Hyatt is in the ITDC part of Nusa Dua. You can walk to local restaurants and beaches, but mostly to move anywhere away from ITDC you will need transport. Unfortunately that’s the trade off for being in an exclusive resort area. It’s a lot different to staying in areas such as Kuta.
Getting out and seeing a “genuine” Bali experience depends entirely on what you are looking for. To see a temple I would recommend Uluwatu Temple. A traditional village – Penglipuran. To see some real “tourist” areas, get into Kuta Beach or Legian for a sunset one day. All these things will require you to get transport from your hotel.
Locally, you could walk to the restaurants and markets in Jalan Pantai Mengiat. It is walking distance from the Grand Hyatt.
If you let me know exactly what you are looking for, I will be able to better point you in the right direction. Otherwise, have a read of my Complete Guide to Nusa Dua, or even my Complete Guide to Bali to read more about what every neighbourhood is like.
Cheers.
