The Apurva Kempinski has no less than half a dozen different restaurants for you to consider, the pick of which is definitely their Koral Restaurant. Grand Hyatt Bali

The Grand Hyatt Bali is one of the first large resorts to be built in Nusa Dua, and still commands a lot of respect. With over 600 rooms, it is still one of the largest, and is located on prime property in one of the best beachside properties on the Bukit.

The Grand Hyatt is all about tranquility, which is apparent to any visitor upon arrival. The entire complex is surrounded by tropical gardens, lawns, waterfalls and pools. With 5 restaurants and 2 bars, there is really nothing that the Grand Hyatt doesn’t provide.

One of the big drawcards for the Grand Hyatt has always been its amazing location. It is close to the airport, making transfers a breeze, is located within the Nusa Dua ITDC resort area, and is easy walking distance to Bali Collection, Nusa Dua’s main shopping precinct. Add to that the exclusive beachside access, and you can’t go wrong with a stay at the Grand Hyatt Bali!

The Westin Resort

The Westin Resort Bali is an amazing addition to the string of resorts along the shoreline of Nusa Dua. Known as a luxury family resort, the Westin Resort caters to the needs of everyone.

With specially designed recreation rooms that are age appropriate, it doesn’t matter how hold the kids are, they will find something at the Westin to keep them occupied. Nintendo Wii, a fully appointed Cinema, Internet access, a library, playgrounds and billiards tables provide enjoyment for everyone. While the kids are occupied, there is a fitness center and massage facilities for the adults, along with the amazing pool and beachfront access.

If you are looking for a luxury family holiday, you can’t go wrong with the Westin Resort Bali. Safely located within the ITDC, it is only a short stroll from shopping, restaurants and the famous watersports of Benoa are only a few minutes away down the road!

St Regis Bali Resort

The St Regis Bali Resort sits just outside the ITDC on one of my favorite beaches in Bali, Geger Beach. This beautiful white sand beach is one of the most quiet beaches that you will find, with calm turquoise waters and amazing views out across the reef to the distant surf break.

The St Regis boasts 80 suites and 42 villas throughout the complex, and sports architectures inspired by the early 1900’s. Every room is fully equipped with modern day luxury’s, and is decorated with cultural fabrics. The resort has a lagoon style pool, fitness center and spa. With one of Bali’s best Golf Courses right next door, you might also want to make sure and bring your A Game!

Hilton Bali Resort

The Hilton Bali Resort sits atop the cliffs of Nusa Dua, commanding wide sweeping views out across the Indian Ocean. Every room at the resort has its own private balcony with wonderful views of either the ocean, or the tropical gardens. The Hilton Bali Resort has been famous on the Nusa Dua Hotel landscape for some time now, and with good reason.

The pool and recreation facilities of the Hilton Bali Resort lay at the base of the cliff, and are reached by catching the glass elevator down from the lobby level. The ride itself is amazing, let alone the incredible pools, lawns, tennis courts and private beach that await you at the bottom.

If you are looking for a great Nusa Dua accommodation option, then a stay at the Hilton Bali Resort has to be near the top of your list!

The Laguna

The Laguna is a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa located within the ITDC in Nusa Dua. With 257 guest rooms and 19 suites, if you are after a luxury holiday in Bali, then the Laguna will not let you down.

The Laguna also has 11 pool villas with their own private pools. There are Lagoon access rooms that allow you to step directly into the lagoon itself right from your back door. The jewel in the crown of the Laguna, however, are the lagoons themselves. Seven swimmable lagoons are featured throughout the resort, with the world’s first swimmable lagoon stretching over 5000 square meters as it winds its way around the resort.

The beachside access of the Laguna is beautiful, with the gardens meeting the beach seamlessly. There always seems to be something going on along the Laguna beachfront as well, with different culinary experiences a regular occurrence, guaranteeing that no two stays at the Laguna will ever be the same!

The Melia

The Melia is located right in the middle of the ITDC area, and in one of the prime locations along the Nusa Dua Shoreline. With access to Bali Collection shopping center right out front, the airport only a short transfer away, and one of the best beaches of Nusa Dua at the doorstep, the Melia has to be almost perfect!

The Melia Beachfront

If you are searching for Nusa Dua accommodation, then definitely have a closer look at the Melia. It features a lagoon that winds its way through the resort, gardens, bars and restaurants that cater to any tastes. The beachfront area is incredible, with a beautiful deck area sitting out over the beach, and beanbags around fire pits for those lazy evenings under the stars sipping on cocktails.

Melia Swing
The famous Melia Swing

The Melia also has the easiest access to the Bay area between the two islands of Nusa Dua. Take a stroll along the walkway to the islands themselves, or ride a bike along the coastal walkway. With markets, local warungs and even a surf school right next door, your options are almost unlimited.

The Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa

Last but certainly not least in my list of Nusa Dua accommodation is the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa. The first luxury resort to be built at Nusa Dua, they picked the prime location along the best beach in the ITDC area!

The Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa has had many famous guests over the years, including Kings, Queens and Presidents. Once you have a closer look at the Hotel itself, you will understand why. The entire place actually resembles a palace, and oozes luxury and comfort beautifully combined to create the perfect Balinese experience.

Tamarind Restaurant
Tamarind Restaurant

There are no less than 7 places to dine at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa, but my personal choice is definitely the Tamarind Mediterranean Restaurant. Constructed entirely from bamboo and thatch, it offers a truly unique place to spend the evening with delicious food and amazing views across the ocean.

Bonus – The Mulia Resort Bali

This one isn’t really a bonus, because in reality it SHOULD be on any list for resorts in Bali, let alone Nusa Dua. It is the biggest resort in Nusa Dua, and probably on the entire island!

The Mulia Resort Bali is most famous for it’s pool. Photographers and Instagrammers have really fallen in love with it over the years, and people have actually traveled halfway around the world just to stay here, simply because of the pool.

This resort features not just the rooms of the resort itself, but dozens of villas as well. It is located on a prime piece of property on the Nusa Dua beachfront, and boasts frontage onto one of the best beaches in Bali. With the wonders of the Bukit within easy reach, and everything that Nusa Dua has to offer right alongside, it is no wonder that the Mulia Resort enjoys the rating that it does!

Cheaper Options

While Nusa Dua has always been about luxury, and the ITDC area has always been a place that oozes just that, it doesn’t mean there are not other options.

If you are looking for Nusa Dua accommodation, and don’t wish to pay, or simply do not require, luxury accommodation, then you just have to look a little further afield. Up the hill, only a short walk or quick ride on the scooter away from the beach you will find cheaper places to stay. In recent years a couple of places have opened that cater for the backpackers and budget travelers. There is even one larger hotel that caters mostly for businessmen passing through for conferences at the resorts, and is a cheap option as well.

So here is a quick list of a few of those options with links attached.

Summary

The Nusa Dua area is an amazing place to stay. If you are after luxury and security, then you simply cannot go wrong. The ITDC area is built for just that, but the larger and newer hotels up on the clifftops provide exactly the same thing, albeit with a better view!

Just remember, though, that Nusa Dua isn’t just for the luxury and high paying tourist anymore. There are plenty of options available, as outlined above.

Most importantly, though, just enjoy your stay!
