THE JOURNEY #1: It’s About Time

This blog has been a long time coming, but here it is. Finally! Welcome to THE JOURNEY!

For those that have been following along with my website, and the adventures that I have been writing about on there, then thank you all! Now, here is the weekly account that I have decided to write to chronical my Journey from here on.

But why, I hear you ask, has it taken so long?

I understand why this question has continued to come up, and there is only really one good answer. Coronavirus. Yes, that good old germ that just keeps popping up is the reason I haven’t really chronicled much to this point, simply because my traveling has been a bit erratic ever since I left Australia.

THE JOURNEY #1 together
Times like these have made The Journey together amazing so far

For those of you that don’t know my story, and how I got to this point, then head on over to my About Me page for a quick catchup.

As for right now, however, I am in Bali during what they are calling a PPKM. This is not exactly a lock down, but really just a soft restriction on movements around the island. I have been fully vaccinated, so restrictions are not as harsh for me, but most tourist attractions etc. are closed, or supposed to be closed, so I find myself at home working on my blog. Which isn’t that bad in reality. Why?

Simple, really. I have seen and done most of what I wanted to see and do on this island, and then some! It has been 18 months on the island of Bali now, and I am truthfully ready to move on. So, that is the plan. For now at least.

We will always return for those incredible Bali Sunsets

Jo is currently in Jakarta, and when she returns we are making plans to get our butts into gear once again. First, we actually DO have a few places we want to see here in Bali before we move on, but we also know that we will be back regularly, due to the fact that this is our base, here in Nusa Dua, and that Jo has so much family here.

For now, we are planning in the next few weeks to go up to Sideman, an amazing area of Bali on the East Coast, and also return to two of our favorite places on the island in Munduk and Bukit Mende. Here, we will catch up with some local friends, and bid our farewells as he head off for 6 months or so.

Where are we going? Well, I will leave that for a future edition of THE JOURNEY!
